A new gun for the lunatic fringe

I like guns; I own guns; I am a member of the NRA.

However, there are times when even I think things have gone a bit too far.

At first glance, it's just another one of many AR-15 clones, but the Crusader rifle is special. It's inscribed with the shield and long cross of the Knights Templar on one side of the lower assembly and Psalm 144:1, "Blessed be the Lord my Rock, who trains my hands for war, my fingers for battle," on the other.

Ben "Mookie" Thomas, a former Navy SEAL who is now a spokesman for Spike's Tactical, came up with the idea. He wanted a rifle that was "Muslim-proof." According to Thomas, the symbol and Biblical quotation, "ensures that no Muslim terrorist will even pick up this weapon to use it to bring harm against another person."
