This year the United States of America unleashed a vile ugliness into the world rivaling the evils Pandora released from her proverbial box. We have elevated as our leader, a man, to one of the most powerful offices on earth, who has not only been accused of sexual assault, but readily admits it. A man who blatantly lies, and is proud of it. A man who threatens others by promoting intimidation, bribery and violence. A man who surrounds himself with people who lack basic human compassion and operate from a central nervous system that is programmed for hate, for greed, for lust and for power. He is a serial adulterer, who subtly, overtly and publicly hints at incest and sexualizes children. He has been accused of sexually assaulting a minor, and several adult women. People like him typically use prostitutes and pay for abortions.
This leader elect is not a good man, he is not an ethical man, he is not a kind man, and he is not by any stretch of the imagination a wise, considerate, courageous and polite man. He does not have the moral or ethical temperament to be a good, a just and a wise leader. He is the kind of man that women warn their daughters about and the kind of man that men shield and protect their daughters from. He is the kind of man that preachers call sinners, that jailers call sexual predators and that mothers and fathers call bad. He is a man who can only admire himself, a man who seeks revenge no matter the slight, and a man who takes pleasure in toying with the lives of others like cats with their prey. He is a man who sees the world as his personal playground and bank, made for his financial gain, for his personal pleasure and for his entertainment. He is a bad man.
His sycophants are equally as cruel, they like he, prefer their thugs in hoods and armbands, they like to torture humans, to blame victims, to take food from the mouths of babies, to lie and spread rumors and conspiracy theories, to damage the environment and ecosystems, to put people in internment camps and detention centers, to build walls and man them with guns, to blithely treat humans as numbers and statistics , to promote and incite hate and intolerance, to rob people of health, education and social help, to quell protests, to politicize women’s healthcare and treat them as objects, to ridicule and humiliate those least able to defend and protect themselves, to terrorize and threaten opponents, to trample on personal freedoms and hard fought for civil liberties and to rewrite history to support their deformed views of the world all for their own personal gain, personal confirmation and self-glorification. They are bad people.
It has been said that a government, a nation, a people get the leader they deserve. Is this the kind of leader America really deserves? If so then the Statue of Liberty’s tears have extinguished her flame, the Lady of Justice’s blindfold has been stripped from her eyes, the Bell of Liberty has cracked asunder and “God damn it babies” hope flew away.
