I'm going to compare things here to things in some of the cities I know (Denver, SF, Phoenix, DC). I realize this isn't apples/apples 2/x
Yes, infrastructure and power generation are different than many states, etc. This is more about how daily life plays out. Here we go. 3/x
Imagine living in Aurora and not being able to communicate with family in Boulder for weeks, and the govt can't help. Wanna drive? Ok.4/x
I hope you have connections in govt or have 4< hours to kill in a line for gasoline. Maybe you decide to wait in that line, and you 5/x
get to the front and realize that there's no gas to buy. No sweat, you can chill for another 6 hours until the next truck comes. Maybe. 6/x
Imagine you live in DC and a storm knocks out your running water. It's cool, there's a spring spitting out the side of a hill on 7/x
Rock Creek Pkwy. Just take some buckets, get in a very long line of cars, pull to the side of the road, wait a while, and fill your jug. 8/x
Oh, you might as well wash your hair there too since it's free and clean running water. Don't mind the crazy and dangerous traffic jam 9/x
going on next to you because the government can't provide its citizens with water, a basic human need. 10/x
Imagine you live in SF and a storm knocks out a bunch of power poles. 10 days later there still just laying there, or hanging broken 11/x
