Six People Stabbed At Jerusalem Pride Parade

It's not just Christianity and Islam. Judaism has a problem with LGBT people too:

The BBC reports that police have arrested a man who stabbed six people at the Gay Pride parade in Jerusalem.

Yishai Sclissel, an “ultra-Orthodox Jew,” also stabbed three people at the same parade in 2005. He was sentenced to 12 years in prison, but was released three weeks ago.

Two of the victims remain in serious condition. Witnesses claim Sclisslel approached marchers from behind and then began stabbing. He was ultimately wrestled to the floor by a police officer.

According to the BBC, hundreds of police are sent out to the parade in order to prevent violence.

Remember that Leviticus 20:13, a literal reading of which calls for the death penalty for gay relations, is part of the Jewish text, the Torah.

All three religions have behaved this way, not all to the same degree, but that's a matter for another time. What's a matter for now is recognizing that scripturally-based religious fascism is still a violent threat to LGBT people and must be challenged everywhere you can find it.
